According to reports, Astro City Mini reproduces the first arcade Astro City launched by Sega in 1991, similar to the "NeoGeo Mini" previously launched by SNK . The first generation Astro City itself was not a platform, but a specific pluggable street cabinet. Agents (operators) could buy and install a variety of game boards for it, which was popular in the streets of Japan.

Astro City Mini includes an HDMI output interface, two USB-A interfaces, and a Micro USB interface. Players can use their own arcade keyboard or purchase additional handles to play. The body size is 130mm x 170mm x 170mm.
