Does HDMI support ARC important?

We often see some HDMI interfaces followed by ARC next to the projector interface parameters. So what does this ARC mean? What is the use of HDMI support for ARC? Let's take a closer look at ARC and HDMI ARC.

What does ARC mean?

ARC refers to Audio Return Channel, and its main function is to transmit sound signals. It can make the installation of digital home appliances simple and convenient.

What is the use of HDMI support for ARC?

On the HDMI interface that supports ARC, the electronic device can send the audio signal back to the power amplifier or other audio equipment with ARC function through the HDMI cable through ARC, so that it does not need an additional digital output cable. Not only that, projection equipment or smart TVs can also directly reverse the digital audio output to the power amplifier through the HDMI cable for decoding.

Why is HDMI ARC important?

When users play high-definition video directly on the projector, if they want to enjoy 5.1-channel audio, they need to connect the attack and amplifier. According to the traditional practice, it is necessary to connect the power amplifier for decoding through the light/coaxial digital audio output port on the projector. But if you have the HDMI ARC interface, you don't have to be so troublesome. You can perform 5.1 channel decoding of digital audio directly through the HDMI cable.

Projectors that do not support digital audio output cannot support HDMI ARC function, so it still depends on the device
