Nintendo issued a document saying that from July 1 onwards, European retailers will no longer be allowed to sell their game download codes .
This means that from now on, European players will only be able to purchase Nintendo’s digital games through the eShop, and their prices are often much more expensive than the game download codes provided by retailers. In this regard, Nintendo did not mention the reason for this move in the statement, only saying that the decision was made "after an inspection of the growing European market in recent years."
although players will not be able to buy game download codes from European retailers from now on, they can still purchase additional content including point cards, memberships, DLC and more through this channel. In addition, NS game download codes of other publishers will not be affected.
