Sony's conference to reveals the PS5 games will have finally lifted the veil on the console itself, or should we say The PS5 consoles since two models were announced this evening. So there will be a PS5 without Blu Ray disc player.

PS5: a vertical design like the Xbox Series X

The design of the Playstation 5 was therefore thought that the console is put vertically, as is the case of the Xbox X Series . The PS5 can be placed in the extended position also (The Xbox Series X too), but we can see that the console was not designed for that. The PS5 will be placed on a base, whether it is placed horizontally or vertically.

PS5 Sony reveals PlayStation 5 and its model without disc drive

Sony has bet on a completely new and daring design with this PS5. The console will therefore be white, with a fairly futuristic appearance and with blue LEDs located on the top of the console. It is a completely different visual approach to that of the Xbox Series X which chose absolute sobriety at the service of performance.

The first PS5 accessories have also been announced:
  • A helmet
  • A remote control
  • A charger to charge two PS5 controllers
  • A camera
PS5 Digital Edition: a diskless console, like at Xbox

In addition to the fact that the design of the PS5 was finally revealed during this conference focused on games, Sony surprises by announcing two models of Playstation 5.

PS5 Sony reveals PlayStation 5 and its model without disc drive

Microsoft was the first manufacturer to release a console without a disc player with the Xbox One S All Digital, and Sony has just followed suit with its future console. The objective is twofold: to switch even faster in the world of digital technology, which is asserting itself year after year, but also to offer a version of PS5 at a floor price. Sony has been careful not to announce the price of the PS5 this evening, but it is a safe bet that that of the PS5 Digital Edition will be at least 50 € cheaper than that of the classic PS5.

It only remains to wait for Microsoft's reaction. The rumor of an Xbox Series S (Lockhart) has been around for more than a year, but Microsoft has never confirmed the existence of a second model of the new Xbox. If the announcement arrives in the coming days, Microsoft will risk passing for the follower when everything has been prepared for a long time. The two manufacturers will in any case have a more affordable version of their next-gen console, and the price war will begin.

Yep, that is common in industries, a product that arrives too early is common, and Sony has experienced this with the PSP go even before Microsoft crashes.

it looks like an Alienware pc, the digital version is nicer on the other hand, the outgrowth of the dvd player is ugly I think. At least the console will not go unnoticed xD

Wow, nice picture!
As much as I am not a fan when she is standing (it looks like an Asus PC supposedly futuristic), but sleeping is really not bad!

Otherwise regarding the conf, it was cool, but in my opinion we cannot communicate on next-gen by showing cutscenes (unless it is done with the game engine).
And given the capabilities of the SSD, they should have applied the same recipe as with the Ratchet demo (I'm thinking of Spiderman and Horizon). They should have shown what the game actually looks like, and how the SSD transforms the title.

After that, it remains a conf of the beginning of gen! Cross-gen games, projects that will come out in 1000 years, and the fear of publishers of Watch Dogs.
I think that streaming has its card to play! Clearly I won't be checking out until interesting 100% next-gen games arrive.

PS5 can be placed vertically or horizontally underneath a TV or monitor. Sony has built a stand that works for either orientation, and the company is using what looks like a slightly different stand for the Digital Edition of the PS5.
