Roku is launching a streaming player in Germany

Streaming devices such as Amazon's Fire TV Stick, Apple's Apple TV and Google's Chromecast will soon face competition from Roku in Germany. Roku announced on Tuesday that it will launch its streaming media player in Germany in the second half of this year. This is Roku's second major launch in Europe after the UK market, as it seeks to capitalize on the trend of TV streaming to boost its global streaming market share.

Roku is currently focused on North America, where it is the largest streaming platform.

After several years of rapid growth, the North American streaming market is nearing a bottleneck in user growth, while the European streaming market is still growing faster. This is Roku's second large-scale streaming player launch after the UK market.
