Samsung is planning to start production of its new MicroLED TVs, which use low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) thin-film transistors (TFTs), in the third quarter.

They will be the tech giant's first MicroLED TVs to use LTPS TFTs instead of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Using LTPS TFT will make these models smaller, while still supporting 4K (3840x2160) resolution. Samsung will start producing 89-inch models for its LTPS TFTs using MicroLED TVs, and Samsung may also apply LTPS TFT technology to its 101-inch and 114-inch models in the future.

Samsung has priced the 89-inch model at around $80,000, with the 101-inch and 114-inch models expected to cost around $90,000 and $100,000.
