Solution to disconnection between NVIDIA Shield TV and Ethernet

Some users find there're problems when connecting NVIDIA Shield TV and Ethernet. Here are some solutions.

1. Change your IP settings

1. Turn on your Nvidia Shield TV.

2. From the home screen, go to Settings.

3. Click on network options.

4. In a new window, select IP Settings.

5. By default, it is set to static. Change it to DCHP.

6. Do not change IP addresses or gateway Settings. However, be sure to set the same S network prefix length and DNS field.

7. Save and exit the IP Settings window.

8. Try to connect to the Internet and then check to see if the error has been resolved.
 
2. Change the DNS Settings of the router

1. Open a Web browser and log in to the router's Web-based administration page.

2. Visit the pattern from the top menu.

3. Click on basic Settings options.

4. Enter the active DNS IP address in the static DNS 1 field. We are using Cloudflare to open DNS addresses. Enter the following in the DNS 1 field.

1.1.1.1

5. Enter the following DNS IP addresses in the static DNS 2 field.

208.67.222.222

6. Alternatively, you can use other public DNS addresses provided by Google and other providers.

7. Leave static DNS 3 field blank.

8. Click the button at the bottom of Save Settings to apply the changes.

9. Click the Continue button to continue.

10. Restart the router,

11. Restart NVIDIA Shield TV.

12. Connect to your network and check that the error has been resolved.
 
3. Uninstall third-party applications

Some third-party applications, such as ES File Explorer, are known to cause some problems, and removing the application has reportedly resolved Ethernet disconnection errors for users.

1. Start Nvidia Shield TV.

2. Click Settings from the home screen.

3. Select the application. It lists all the applications installed on the system.

4. Look for the newly installed application, such as ES File Explorer, and uninstall it.

5. Restart Shield TV and check for any improvements.
 
4. Reset Shield TV

1. From the home screen, navigate to the Settings menu.

2. Click the device Preferences option.

3. Select Restart.

4. Next, choose to erase everything.

5. Nvidia Shield TV will wipe all data and reset the device to factory Settings.

6. Restart and try to connect to the Internet. Check for any improvements.
