Why Mi Box S can't modify files on USB HDD after update?

I just updated my Mi Box S yesterday. I used the FTP client in Solid Explorer to transfer all my movies and TV shows to an external USB that is always connected via a laptop or even a mobile device.

After that update, I seem to lose permission to write/modify the external hard drive.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

Reset the device to it's factory default and try again
