Microsoft will hold a big Xbox conference for the month of July. New Xbox Series X games will be announced for the occasion, and this particular event will be different from the Inside Xbox we were treated to last May. In all likelihood, this conference will be the big show of the year for Xbox and will approach what can be expected from an Xbox E3 conference. Expect heavy stuff this time!

Xbox Series X conference in July: Where and when to watch, games, consoles

Where and when to watch the July 2020 Xbox conference?
The Xbox conference will be available exclusively online. Following the cancellation of E3 2020, the show will be broadcast live on web.
  • When: July 2020, date to be confirmed (rumor the week of July 20).
  • What time: time to be confirmed
  • Where: Livestream of Mixer, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, the video will start on its own at the appointed time.
  • How long: The conference should last at least an hour, if not more.
  • Discuss with the community: on our forum
What games will be shown at the July Xbox conference?

The conference will be an opportunity for Microsoft to unveil titles from its own studios, the Xbox studios . With fifteen entities to its credit and several teams inside, Microsoft has a future catalog that should be well stocked to water the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Game Pass with new productions. Halo Infinite has been confirmed for the conference and we can expect to see gameplay from the game on Xbox Series X for the very first time.

Here is the list of games be shown at the Xbox conference in July.
  • Halo Infinite : the new Halo will be released at the end of the year with the Xbox Series X. We saw nothing other than a trailer released at E3 last year, and this will be an opportunity to deliver things up to date. The Halo Infinite video will certainly set the bar high in terms of graphics rendering and should make the title the showcase of the Xbox Series X.
Xbox Series X conference in July: Where and when to watch, games, schedule
  • Gears 5 : we suspect that the next iterations of Xbox Series X will be pretty, but Microsoft has already spoken of Gears 5 as an opus optimized on Xbox Series X in order to show that the current games can also be better on the new Xbox: 4k , 60 fps, 120 fps (in multiplayer) and Ray tracing according to the reworked titles.
  • Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 : Ninja Theory formalized their new baby at the end of last year with a trailer that is visually striking and would deserve to show the first phases of gameplay, for example to demonstrate the capabilities of the Xbox Series X with Ray Tracing.
  • Fable 4 : developed by Playground Games if we believe the insistent corridor noises of recent years, this new Fable game would be an ideal candidate to be announced at a big event this summer if Microsoft wanted to give a little perspective on what will happen in the next few years.
  • Age of Empires IV : we must not forget that Xbox now has the ambition to release everything also on PC and that this platform must be put forward during an Xbox conference. This would be the perfect time to present the long-awaited game of strategy enthusiasts who already had a (too) short teaser last year.
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 : still in the PC world, the Xbox conference in July could announce the release date of the beta version of the game, but also show new gameplay that plucks the jaw. If an Xbox Series X version was announced in the process, it would make even more people happy. Remember that the game will arrive as soon as it is released in the Xbox Game Pass.
  • Everwild : the next big production of Rare was treated to a nice trailer presenting its shimmering graphics and we are still waiting to know more about its universe and its gameplay mechanics. Another good candidate for an E3 conference.
  • Forza Motorsport 8 : Turn10 has taken its time on this new installment and what would a new Xbox launch be without a new Forza? The studio has been working on the game for a long time and it would be a good opportunity to show us the new features of this episode which promises to be slightly different from what we are used to. The community would have been heavily involved in the development of this next-gen Forza Motorsport.
  • First game of The Initiative: the Santa Monica studio is young but Microsoft could choose this moment to give a vision of their first project, just to reassure Xbox players. For sure, it will be an ambitious game, and rumors suggest a certain Perfect Dark.
  • New Double Fine title: in addition to Psychonauts 2 due out this year, we know that the studio is working on another game for Xbox, and that it will contain multiplayer. This kind of conference is always a good opportunity to announce new products.
Just in the list above, we realize that the potential is there, and that's not counting the surprises that should happen from Xbox studios. But the conference could also include third-party games, i.e. those supported by publishers other than Xbox, such as Activision, Ubisoft, Devolver, Warner Bros. or Electronic Arts. According to insider Shinobi, whose reliability is no longer to be proven, this July conference "will ignite", just that!

Here are some third-party productions that could be presented.

  • Elden Ring : the new FromSoftware has not been shown for a long time ... this would be the ideal opportunity to correct the situation, especially since the name of the game had already been mentioned in rumors with Xbox ...
  • Cyberpunk 2077 : What would a big Xbox conference be without Cyberpunk 2077? The marketing deal between Xbox and CD Projekt goes a long way, as we saw with the controller and the Xbox One X pack. Even if the Polish studio will hold its own event in June, it is not impossible that the game will talk again of him here.
  • Dying Light 2 : pushed back several times, the game has been presented several times at events alongside Xbox. It would be an opportunity to show it in its best light.
  • Saints Row V : Volition has confirmed that the game will be released in 2020 and "it will be great".
Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S: a release date and a price?

Xbox Series X conference in July: Where and when to watch, games, schedule

We already know a lot about the Xbox Series X, but the two main pieces of information are missing: a release date and a price! Even if this Xbox conference in July will give pride of place to games, it is not impossible that Microsoft announces a date for the commercialization of its console, even a price.

For its part, Sony has still not announced the price of the PS5, but everything suggests that it will be around 500 €. Nevertheless, the Japanese manufacturer has implied that the entry ticket for its machine would not necessarily be very affordable (bluff?), And Microsoft has opted for the reverse scheme in order to reassure, as Phil Spencer said a few years ago weeks.

I feel good about the price we can get. Both on the price and the performance we have with the Xbox Series X. I feel the overall package incredibly strong. We think it's a winning plan. We will make sure to stay agile on the price.
Aaron Greenberg, head of the Xbox marketing department, confirmed that nothing had been delayed and that the Xbox teams were working hard on the future Xbox online conference to be held in July.

Faced with a PS5 Digital Edition devoid of Blu Ray player, Microsoft could also take advantage of this event to finally announce the one that the rumor has been designating for more than a year under the code name " Xbox Lockhart ", and likely to become the Xbox Series S.

I will play all the games mentioned in the article for sure. I still hope that the July conf will bring a wide variety as Sony has done during its recent reveal, because the dominant Xbox remains for the moment essentially reserved for an adult audience. Which is great, but color would also be welcome among all these hyperrealistic wars and simulations.

There will be Rare and Double Fine for that it is true, but I would not hide on a more detailed list of excluded family games with next gen qualities ... like a new Banjo Kazooie which, admit, have been on my wishlist for a very long time ^^
