Xbox Series X games: list of confirmed (and expected) games on the new Xbox!

The question is on everyone's lips: what games will be released on Xbox Series X? 2020 will be a big year for video games since the new Xbox will be released at the end of the year, and with it a catalog of launch games. Some titles will be exclusive to Xbox Series X and others will benefit from specific optimizations for this new console. Here we have listed all known and expected Xbox Series X games on Microsoft's next-gen console, for 2020 and beyond.

Here is the list of the next games that will be released on Xbox Series X or those that will be entitled to specific optimizations. It is indeed important to remember that all Xbox One titles already out work on the console thanks to the backwards compatibility Xbox X Series . The backward compatible Xbox 360 and original Xbox games will also work on Xbox Series X, which already makes several thousand games playable on Xbox Series X as of its launch at the end of 2020. Finally, note that all games from Xbox studios will be released also from the day of their release in the Xbox Game Pass .

1.Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite is one of the first games announced for the release period of the Xbox Series X. The new episode of the famous saga is developed by 343 Industries and looks slightly different from previous episodes. Halo Infinite is indeed a spiritual reboot of the franchise to reconcile old and new players. The developers confirmed a cooperative mode with 4 split screen and a lot of personalization elements. Its brand new graphics engine, called the Slipspace Engine, should certainly demonstrate the technical capabilities of the new Xbox.

2.Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2

When it was released in 2017, Hellblade made a lot of noise. The Ninja Theory game was widely praised for its spellbinding story, brilliant soundtrack and exemplary achievement. The sequel, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, should once again set the bar high, especially since the studio now benefits from more resources since it was bought by Microsoft.

3.Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

The new master of aviation simulation is off to a lot of talk. Each new image, each new video of the game shows how far the developers have gone in its design. Realistic wish, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is an invitation to travel for simulation enthusiasts, but also for beginners, as we said when we got started with the game . The game has been confirmed by Microsoft on Xbox One (and therefore Xbox Series X) but will probably not be released in 2020 on it.

4.Forza Motorsport 8

The next Forza Motorsport has been in development at Turn10 for a while. With this new Forza, the graphics promise to be more faithful than ever, in particular thanks to the massive use of photogrammetry. The developers also seem to put the community at the center of this new game since they evoke an ultimate goal of shaping the future of car entertainment with the creation of communities of players and car enthusiasts. It is even possible that we are entitled to a scenario , as we learned at the end of May.

5.Everwild

British studio Rare is developing a brand new Xbox franchise, Everwild. This new license is described as original and incredibly special. The first images of the game show a very colorful universe tinged with fantasy and fantastic animals. In all likelihood, Everwild should have multiplayer components.

Gears 5

• Released on Xbox One. Xbox Series X update planned
• Xbox exclusive
• Available in Xbox Game Pass

Already available on Xbox One, Gears 5 will benefit from an Xbox Series X optimization. The game will run in 4K definition with HDR enabled, but we don't yet know the list of other improvements. It goes without saying that thanks to the SSD of the Xbox Series X, the loading times will be reduced, even sometimes eliminated, and that the game will benefit from better graphics and / or a better framerate still, in particular for the multiplayer for which the studio would target 120 fps!

6.Assassin's Creed Valhalla

• Release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC in late 2020

The new episode of the Assassin's Creed franchise was one of the first games announced to be optimized for Xbox Series X. We know that it will run in a 4K definition and that it will benefit from a framerate “of at least 30 fps” . Ubisoft has not yet detailed the list of other optimizations but we can legitimately think that the Xbox Series X version of Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be the most technically and graphically advanced.

7.Project: Mara

• Available in Xbox Game Pass

Project: Mara is an experimental project developed by the Ninja Theory studio. We don't know much about this project, but we do know that it is a real representation of mental terror. On the basis of accounts of lived experiences and in-depth research, the objective is to recreate the horrors of the mind in the most precise and realistic way possible. Project: Mara will be an experimental title and a showcase of what could become a new narrative medium, just that.

8.Fable (RPG Playground Games)

• Release on Xbox Series X and PC
• Xbox exclusive
• Available in Xbox Game Pass
• Smart delivery

Playground Games, the British studio responsible for the Forza Horizon franchise, is embarking on a whole new genre: the open world RPG. Rumors of a new Fable game have been around for a long time, and each new clue suggests a slightly more mature Fable, like the artworks published by game developers. We are impatiently awaiting its announcement.

9.Cyberpunk 2077

• Released on Xbox One on September 17, 2020
• Xbox Series X update expected after console launch
• Smart delivery

Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the first games to appear on the Xbox Series X. The developers at CD Projekt immediately confirmed support for Smart Delivery when this feature was announced. This means that players who purchase Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One will get a free update on Xbox Series X so that the game will be available on the latter in an upgraded version.

10.Call of Duty 2020

• Release on Xbox One in late 2020

Who says new year, says new Call of Duty game! Activision will not miss the release of a new generation of consoles to show off its new game in its best light. The rumor suggests a spin off of the Call of Duty Black Ops series during the Vietnam War.
