Xiaomi OLED TV 's shortcomings

Xiaomi TV will unveil its second-generation OLED TV on August 10, so is the first generation OLED TV (released last July ) good? Here are some pros and cons of Xiaomi OLED TV.
Xiaomi OLED TV

All OLED TVS currently on the market are LG's Woled panels, and Xiaomi's OLED TV is no exception. Woled is composed of 4 sub-pixels, among which the red, green and blue sub-pixels are produced by the white light emitted by the organic matter behind and the three-color filter film in front, and the fourth sub-pixel is the white light emitted by the organic matter.

1. Because the life of red, green and blue luminescent organic matter is different, in order to maintain the consistency of life, Woled uses this way to emit light, and adds white sub-pixels to improve the brightness, because the filter film affects the brightness

2. The advantage of this panel is that the brightness of the pixels can be individually controlled, the black of the screen can be displayed without giving off light, and the viewing Angle is wide

The disadvantages are as follows:

1. "Burn-in"

Because organic luminescent materials age too quickly, a fixed screen display for a long time at a certain position on the screen will make this position age faster than other positions, so it seems that there will be black residual shadow at this position.

The measures adopted at this stage are:

First, limit the brightness to slow down aging;
Second, the pixel point is dithered and displaced to even the aging area (close eyes are prone to fatigue);
Third, when the aging degree of a certain position is more serious, it can accelerate the aging of other places by quickly brushing the screen so as to even the aging degree.

But these are all palliative ways to shorten screen life and even the aging phenomenon.

2. Low brightness

In order to slow down the aging rate, TV manufacturers reduce the luminescence intensity of organic matter, so the full-screen BRIGHTNESS of OLED TV on the market can only maintain more than 100 CD /m2, which will make Xiaomi OLED TV appear black when showing bright scenes, and it is far less than the current mainstream HDR brightness standard.

3. Color slants

To increase the brightness to join the fourth son white pixels would make it difficult to adjust the white balance, the OLED TV every light is by white and RGB two colors to mix color, but the partial color problem is quite obvious, such as white screen will always slant blue, and close to white gray direct show pale blue, although need not too exquisite color standard to see a movie, the mi OLED TV's color bias is also a poor experience.

4. Missing black detail

At present, voltage or current driven IC is difficult to stabilize the low brightness control of luminescent organic matter, which is reflected in the failure to accurately adjust the grayscale of the display, thus affecting the color mixing and response of low brightness. The display is uneven in the screen color and easy to dynamic shadow.

OLED TV in response to this problem, the choice of low light signal direct no light display black, that is to say, Xiaomi OLED TV discarded low light grayscale, resulting in dark no details

By the way, AH0LED mobile phone is trichromic organic light, in addition to the low light control instability, plus trichromic organic threshold voltage is different. The response mode of PWM dimming is much better than that of WOLED TV in terms of display effect, and then low-frequency PRM will increase eye fatigue when watching close.

5. Ghosting

While OLED's greyscale response is fast, its black and white response is slow, which makes Xiaomi's OLED TV prone to drag when displaying high-contrast image changes, and the OLED TV's all-black solution increases the probability of black and white response.

In addition: Most people can't stop the behavior that causes eye fatigue when the brain is not tired but the eyes are tired. Often the eyes are in a state of severe fatigue, which is the main factor to induce floaters. The pixel jitter and displacement of AMOLED mobile phones, as well as the low-frequency PWM dimming under low brightness, can aggravate eye fatigue.
