You will absolutely need a shovel in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! In this episode, you will not have it immediately, it will be up to you to recover it, and you will have to complete a few steps. Rest assured, nothing insurmountable!
Animal Crossing New Horizons: The camp site where to welcome Thibou
At first, you will have to find 5 different fish or insects and bring them to Tom Nook (see our fishing guide ), after completing the first tutorials and in particular retrieving the fishing rod and the butterfly net. Once the demand of the famous tanuki has been satisfied, you will have to make a space to reserve for the future tent of Thibou (who, as the name suggests, is an owl). As soon as you have chosen it, all you have to do is sleep (a real day, so while waiting to change the day actually on your console!) And wait for Thibou to arrive on the island to meet him. It is at the end of your exchange that you will get the information to make your shovel.

For those who don't want to wait for Thibou's arrival, you can also buy a Miles Nook ticket for 2000 miles, then go to a mystery island and speak to Rodrigue. The latter will offer to buy a shovel for 100 miles.
