System Experience

When I decided to invest in a new projector, I was initially tempted by more affordable options. However, I ultimately chose to spend a bit more, around $700 extra, because I knew we’d be using it for gaming, and I wanted something that would really perform. Setting it up was a breeze; I mounted it on the ceiling and found the lens adjustment features incredibly user-friendly. Even with a dedicated movie room, I appreciate that it integrates seamlessly with my existing setup, including a Dolby Atmos receiver and various gaming consoles.

Viewing Experience

The picture quality has blown me away. It’s exceptionally bright, even in eco mode, which works perfectly for our slightly lit room. The clarity is impressive, and while I noticed that blacks aren’t as deep as they might be on a high-end TV, the colors are vibrant and engaging, making movie nights and gaming sessions a delight. I love how the projector maintains a sharp image, and the 4K signal from my Chromecast makes everything look stunning, regardless of the source resolution.

Other Experience

Using this projector has generally been a joy. It starts up quickly, although connecting to the Chromecast takes a moment, which is similar to my old projector. I’ve encountered a few signal drops, but they’re infrequent and usually resolve themselves in about 15-20 seconds. It’s a minor inconvenience that hasn’t affected my gaming experience. I also appreciate how quiet it operates; it doesn’t distract from the action on the screen.

Pros:

- Incredible brightness, even in eco mode
- Easy ceiling mounting and lens adjustments
- Fantastic image quality with vibrant colors
- Quick startup time and low latency for gaming
- Very quiet operation

Cons:

- Occasional signal drops, particularly with movies
- Blacks could be deeper compared to high-end TVs
- Slightly larger than my previous projector

Conclusion

Overall Evaluation:
I’m genuinely thrilled with this projector. It has exceeded my expectations for both movie-watching and gaming. The investment feels justified, especially considering how much we enjoy family game nights and cinematic experiences together. While I wish there were a few more customizable settings, I haven’t felt the need to adjust much. I would wholeheartedly recommend this projector to anyone looking for a vibrant and responsive option for home entertainment. I can confidently say that I would make this purchase again without hesitation!

This projector is pretty awesome, but I noticed the rainbow effect and had to send it back. Really wish Benq would jump on the 3-chip bandwagon! 😕

So glad I bought this! I was a bit iffy about the price since I've regretted projector buys before, but not this one. The picture is gorgeous and it’s super quiet!

I gotta say, I'm loving this projector! Tried a few others before, and while the contrast isn't top-notch, the brightness (3300 ANSI lumens!) totally makes up for it. Plus, it plays console games with barely any lag. Totally worth it!
