Can you convert 2K to 4K in Smart TV? Is this conversion good? Although 4K UHD resolution TVs are now highly popular, users still face the situation of having not much 4K film to watch. Does this mean that 4K resolution is not of much use to users? If you buy a 4K TV, how can you see better picture quality programs?

I believe that people who are concerned about TV products will more or less see the "2K to 4K" technology, which means that through the 2K to 4K technology, you can make the high-definition source to achieve a picture quality effect comparable to 4K resolution, so how is this technology achieved?

There are two main methods to achieve 2K to 4K on the market today.

The single compensation technique is the easiest to implement and the most widely used approach. This technique is calculated by the image processor onboard the 4K TV to track the compensation and rendering of the movie being played. It simply means that four-pixel dots are inserted directly into each of the original pixel dots so that the resolution of the 2K movie can reach 4K and the played movie is no longer stretched directly but displayed point to point. However, this rough interpolation also makes the loss of detail in the picture, and the overall improvement in picture quality is actually very limited.

2K to 4K correlation compensation technology, this technology through the 2K signal for real-time analysis, and the entire screen into 2 million intervals, for the adjacent interval for the vertical and horizontal four dimensions of the color operation before inserting pixels, so that the inserted pixel color can match the surrounding display screen. After converting to 4K resolution, the accuracy of the image is also improved more significantly.

We need to note that this 2K to 4K technology is only an emerging technology in the case of a lack of 4K sources, the effect from the real 4K film is certainly still a significant gap.
