May 26 Update: Gigabyte unveiled its new MO27Q28G monitor at the recently concluded 2025 Taipei International Computer Show. This marks one of the first displays to feature LG Display's fourth-generation (W) OLED "Meta 3.0" panel.

LG Display's fourth-gen OLED panel utilizes its proprietary Primary RGB Tandem technology. This innovative design features a dual-layer blue emitter structure alongside independent red and green emitter layers. The setup significantly boosts total light output, enhances color brightness, and improves energy efficiency.

In a January press release, LG Display highlighted plans to expand its Primary RGB Tandem technology—originally developed for fourth-gen OLED TV panels—into gaming OLED displays.

Gigabyte's MO27Q28G sports a 27-inch matte-finish display with:
- 2560×1440 (WQHD) resolution
- 280Hz refresh rate
- 1500 nits peak brightness
- VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification
- 99% DCI-P3 color coverage

Priced at $500 (approx. ¥3589), the monitor is set for a July launch.

Meanwhile, TFTCentral reports ASUS plans to release a 540Hz version later this year using LG's fourth-gen WOLED panel. Also 27-inch WQHD, it will feature a TrueBlack anti-reflective glossy coating—surpassing Samsung Display's current 500Hz panels.
