According to media reports, American researchers have developed a room temperature all-liquid metal battery, setting the current record for the lowest working temperature of liquid metal batteries. The battery combines many advantages of existing solid-state batteries and liquid batteries, while eliminating their main shortcomings, and has broad application prospects.

This battery can provide all the advantages of solid and liquid-including more energy, higher stability and flexibility, and without the disadvantages of the two. Room temperature batteries are expected to provide more power than solid-state lithium-ion batteries in most personal electronic devices today. Researchers say it can charge faster and deliver energy several times higher. Due to the use of liquid components, the battery can be easily and freely "zoomed in" or "zoomed out" according to the required power. The bigger the battery, the more power it can provide. This flexibility makes it possible for these batteries to power everything from smart phones and watches to electrical infrastructure, thereby providing support for the development of renewable energy.

If the room temperature all-liquid metal battery is really as good as the reported, we can expect portable smart devices like the smart bracelet and watch longer battery life without adding weight.
