Multiplayer game The Ascent will be launched this year on XSX/PC

On May 8, 2020, with the launch of a new generation of game consoles, Curve Digital is excited to announce plans for an Xbox Series X game. The game was developed by game studio Neon Giant, an 11-person team with extensive experience in aaa game development and the ability to take advantage of Epic's unreal engine for game creation.

The Ascent, Neon Giant's debut independently, will be available on both Xbox Series X and PC platforms. The game gives players the opportunity to participate in science-fiction-themed ARPG games and refreshes the quality ceiling for games of the same genre. Players can choose either single-player mode or up to four player online collaboration (PvE).

The Ascent

The Ascent was developed based on unreal engine 4 and greatly benefited from The collective experience of The creative team. Neon Giant members have previously worked on games like Bulletstorm, Gears of War and Castle Wolfenstein.

"We wanted to create a science-fiction-themed RPG that players could play the way they wanted, in a story-driven environment, with all kinds of high-tech costumes, enhancements and resource grabs," said game producer Tor Frick. For us, The Ascent process was about taking The lessons we all learned from game development in The triple-a series and applying them to such a highly focused project, redefining what gamers expect from a small but flexible team."

The Ascent has The following characteristics:

  • The game style of walking freely in a dystopian society driven by cyberpunk culture;
  • It has a classic RPG mechanism, which enables players to shape their roles through various high-tech costumes, function enhancement and resource grabs;
  • The unprecedented sense of vertical structure in the game world, different levels and platforms can be distinguished in the game;
  • The dual targeting mechanism allows the player to use the full screen to select between multiple targets at any location in the environment;
  • A narrative based adventure game, which can choose either single player mode or multiplayer online cooperation (PvE).

"It was clear from the moment we met Tor, Arcade and the entire Neon Giant team that they were working on something very special," says Simon Byron, head of distribution at Curve Digital. They know how to build The game so that The fight feels right, and even at a very early stage, The Ascent is well worth playing. Everyone in The studio is determined to show how a highly focused, passionate team can create a product that can compete with critically acclaimed titles, and The Ascent is truly a bold and innovative debut."

"In fact, Microsoft recognized The potential and promise of The game early in its development and publicly supported The Ascent. I'm glad we finally got this game out in the open."
