Samsung Secures 18th Consecutive Year as Global TV Sales Leader

In the realm of television sales, Samsung Electronics has once again clinched the top spot for the 18th consecutive year, as reported by the market research firm Omdia. This marks an unbroken streak since 2006 for Samsung's reign at the pinnacle of the television market. According to the report, Samsung captured a commanding 30.1% share of the global TV market in 2023.

Samsung boasts a diverse product lineup ranging from budget-friendly LCD TVs to cutting-edge Micro LED TVs. In 2023, Samsung sold a staggering 8.31 million units of QLED and Neo QLED TVs. Since introducing its first QLED TV in 2017, Samsung has amassed a cumulative sales figure exceeding 44 million units.

Furthermore, Samsung maintains a stronghold in the ultra-premium TV market (priced at $2500 or more, with sizes of 75 inches or larger), commanding a commanding market share of 60.5%, a notable increase from 48.3% in 2022, representing a growth of 12.2 percentage points.

Since launching its first OLED TV in 2022, Samsung has sold over 1 million units of OLED TVs, capturing a market share of 22.7%. With plans to offer more size options this year, Samsung anticipates further growth in its OLED TV sales.

Looking ahead, Samsung aims to make Micro LED TVs more accessible to consumers in the coming years by reducing prices and introducing smaller sizes to the market.
