Shall I buy embedded home cinema speakers?

In general, embedded speaker is a good choice. Many people would argue that embedded speakers are inferior to traditional bookshelf speakers or floor-to-ceiling speakers because they don't look professional. In fact, the low frequency sound waves emitted from the speaker will spreak forward and backward. If backward, the backward propagation of acoustic wave after the wall reflection, will continue to spread, but with the phase difference between the sound waves forward. When the direct sound and the wall reflections overlap, it will produce interference.

However, when we use embedded speakers, the sound waves will not travel backward but all forward. (actually, embedded speakers can be regarded as baffle speakers.) Thus, the interference phenomenon will be avoided. It is a better option in acoustically rough rooms.

So if you prefer a minimalist decor and don't want to overload your room with speakers, there's no need to struggle with embedded speakers, which can sometimes have better acoustics than traditional home cinema speakers.
