On November 22, consumer rights advocate Alex Neill initiated a lawsuit against Sony SIE, claiming that Sony has "abused its dominant position" by charging developers and publishers a 30% commission on the PSN store and adjusting prices for PS Plus members, resulting in "unfair pricing for customers." Alex Neill is seeking a £6.3 billion lawsuit against Sony SIE.

According to reports, Alex Neill alleges that Sony SIE has abused its dominant position by mandating that digital games and add-ons can only be bought and sold through the PSN store. Sony charges a 30% commission to developers and publishers for transactions on the PSN store and arbitrarily manipulates the prices for PS Plus memberships. As a result, customers end up paying significantly more for games and additional content than they should.

However, Sony SIE's lawyers argue that the case is "flawed from start to finish" and should be dismissed. The court ruled that Alex Neill's case could proceed.

In a statement, Alex Neill expressed that the current court decision is the "first step in ensuring consumers get back what they are owed." Sony SIE has not responded to these allegations.
