Google TV’s expansion plan in the smart TV market was hit this week because TCL’s entire Google TV product line has been withdrawn from Best Buy due to performance-related issues.
It turns out that this is due to some early buyers complaining about the performance of the 5 series and 6 series models. TCL’s own website rated the 6-series models as 3.5 stars, and the low score was mainly due to software issues.
TCL responded by confirming that the TV was removed due to performance and software issues. TCL stated that continuous software updates will "improve" the experience in the next few weeks, and the TV will return to Best Buy in the "next few weeks".
