TikTok is going to be available on LG TV finally. TikTok has launched an app for LG's 2020 and 2021 smart TVs.
The app was introduced in the most recent webOS 5.0 and webOS 6.0 releases, with a firmware update starting on October 7, and will subsequently be available on older 2019 TVs in the "coming months" as well.
TikTok confirmed that the app will launch in the UK, France and Germany and will work on its Samsung TV, Android TV and Fire TV. The app is not yet available on LG smart TVS in the US.
TikTok is already optimized for portrait mobile viewing, so it remains to be seen how the new app will play on large smart TV screens. This initiative is designed to strengthen the audience in all areas and also to generate higher advertising dollars from TV viewing.
