System Experience

Parameter
Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV
Hisense 58R6E3 TV
System ExperienceSetting up my Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV was a breeze, which is exactly what I was hoping for after a long day of moving into my new place. It was light enough that I could easily mount it myself, and I loved that I could integrate it with my existing Roku setup without any headaches. I also opted for a soundbar to enhance the audio experience, and finding a mounting solution that worked seamlessly with the TV was a game changer. Everything just clicked into place, making the whole process straightforward and stress-free.Setting up the Hisense 58R6E3 TV was relatively straightforward, and I appreciated the built-in Roku functionality that eliminates the need for an extra device. However, I did encounter some frustrating issues when connecting my HDMI devices. Despite multiple attempts to troubleshoot, the TV wouldn’t recognize them, which left me feeling quite disappointed. It’s disheartening when you’re excited to enjoy your favorite shows and games, only to be faced with technical difficulties from the get-go.

Viewing Experience

Parameter
Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV
Hisense 58R6E3 TV
Viewing ExperienceI have to say, the picture quality on this TV has truly impressed me. The colors are vibrant, and the clarity is fantastic, whether I'm watching movies, shows, or even streaming content. It's such a joy to see my favorite films come to life on the screen, and it has definitely enhanced my viewing experience. I wasn’t expecting it to look this good at such a reasonable price, so I’m feeling quite pleased. When the Hisense 58R6E3 was functioning correctly, I was genuinely impressed by the picture quality. The 4K resolution made everything look stunningly sharp, and the colors popped thanks to HDR10. However, the joy was short-lived as I often found myself unable to access the content I wanted to enjoy. The moments I did get to experience its full potential were overshadowed by the times it failed to deliver, which was quite disappointing.

Audio Experience

Parameter
Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV
Hisense 58R6E3 TV
Audio ExperienceWhile the TV's built-in sound is decent, I did notice some inconsistencies when it comes to volume levels between shows and commercials. I find myself reaching for the remote more often than I’d like just to adjust the volume. I went ahead and added a soundbar, which made a significant difference, but it’s a bit frustrating that I need to keep the remote handy for those loud commercials. I had hoped for a more balanced audio experience out of the box.The sound quality was decent, especially with the DTS Studio Sound feature. It added a nice layer of immersion when watching movies. However, I found myself wishing for a bit more power from the built-in speakers. It felt like I was missing out on a richer audio experience, making me consider investing in a soundbar to enhance my overall viewing experience.

Other Experience

Parameter
Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV
Hisense 58R6E3 TV
Other ExperienceOverall, my experience with this TV has been positive. I appreciated how easy it was to connect everything and access my favorite streaming services. The remote could use some design improvements, especially with volume control placement, but I’ve managed to adapt. I also wish I could use voice commands without buying an additional remote; that feels like a missed opportunity. Still, the convenience of controlling everything from one remote has been a major plus.My overall experience with the Hisense 58R6E3 was marred by numerous frustrations. I had high hopes for a reliable TV, especially given its attractive pricing and features. Yet, the software issues and the lack of intuitive navigation were a constant source of irritation. It felt like I was constantly battling against the very technology I wanted to enjoy, and that was exhausting.

Our Verdict

Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV:

Pros:
One of the biggest pros for me is the affordable price point combined with great picture quality. I love how lightweight the TV is, making it easy to mount or move around. The Roku interface is intuitive, and I appreciate that my streaming channels were set up in no time. Plus, the option to control my soundbar with the same remote adds a layer of convenience I didn’t even know I needed.

Cons:
On the downside, I was a bit disappointed about the so-called edgeless design; it does have a frame that detracts from the aesthetics I was hoping for. The sound leveling between shows and commercials is also a nuisance, requiring constant adjustments. Additionally, the remote’s volume control placement is awkward, which can be frustrating during late-night viewing.

Overall Evaluation:
In the end, I really like my Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV; it delivers solid performance for the price. Despite a few quirks, it’s a great addition to my home and has made my streaming experience much more enjoyable. I would recommend it, especially for those looking for a budget-friendly option that doesn't skimp on quality. It’s been a good decision, and I’m excited to see what more I can discover on this TV!

Hisense 58R6E3 TV:

Pros:
On the positive side, the affordability of the Hisense 58R6E3 is noteworthy. It offers good picture quality for the price, and the smart TV functionality is user-friendly when it works. The built-in Roku interface is a real convenience, providing access to a vast array of streaming services. I also appreciated the voice assistant compatibility, which added a layer of ease to controlling my viewing experience.

Cons:
Unfortunately, the cons significantly overshadowed the pros. The TV's build quality felt a bit cheap, and the limited viewing angles were frustrating, especially when watching with friends or family. The software performance left much to be desired, with occasional lags and glitches. Most concerning was the reliability; I’ve heard too many horror stories from others about their TVs failing just outside the warranty period, and I can’t shake the feeling of impending doom about my own device.

Overall Evaluation:
In summary, my experience with the Hisense 58R6E3 TV has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows. While it has some redeeming qualities, the overall reliability and software performance have left me feeling dissatisfied. The allure of a budget-friendly 4K TV quickly diminished with the technical issues and concerns about longevity. If I could do it all over again, I think I would invest a bit more upfront into a brand with a stronger reputation for quality and durability.

Hisense 58R6E3 TV? Total disappointment!

Seriously, skip the Hisense! This TV is a total dud! I thought I was getting a sweet deal with the price and all those cool apps, but man, I’ve had TWO of these things go kaput in just 26 months! One minute you’re chilling, watching your show, and then—boom—the screen goes black, but the sound’s still blaring! Or it just won’t turn on at all. And when I reached out to Hisense, all they said was, “sorry.” Their warranty is a measly year, and good luck if you even get that! Amazon and the sellers really need to put a warning out there about how bad Hisense TVs are for long-term use. Don’t throw your money away, even if it’s on sale! Trust me on this one!

So, I got myself a Westinghouse 50 Inch Roku TV, and honestly, I’m pretty happy with it! But here’s the thing—when I splurged on the “edgeless” upgrade, I kinda expected no borders at all. Turns out, there’s still a little frame around the screen. Like, how do they get away with calling it edgeless and charging extra for it? Just a bit annoying, you know?

Just got my hands on a Hisense Roku TV 58R6E3 today and I couldn't wait to set it up! Got it home, unboxed it, and plugged it in. I connected my Apple TV, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 to HDMI slots 1, 2, and 3. But then, bam! No signal on any of them. I double-checked everything—cables were secure, devices were on—still nothing!

I even tried switching the cables around and the TV did recognize when I plugged something in, but it just wouldn’t cooperate and kept asking if I was sure it was plugged in. Ugh! I hit up some forums and went through all the troubleshooting steps I could find, even did a full factory reset. Still nothing.

The picture quality looked pretty sweet for the little I could see, but I can’t give more than a single star when I can't access anything! So, I’m packing it up and returning it tomorrow. Definitely not a fan of Hisense after this, especially since I've seen a bunch of other folks having the same problem. What a bummer!
