With the advancement of technology, consumers are no longer just focused on product performance, design, and use cases—they also care about the cultural identity and emotional value behind them. Recently, XGIMI officially announced its collaboration with top male celebrity M.LanPanda (Meng Lan), launching the limited-edition Play 6 co-branded gift set. It went on sale across all major e-commerce platforms and offline stores on May 6 at 8 PM.

The XGIMI Play series has always embraced a design philosophy of making projectors more fun and vibrant. The newly released Play 6 in March 2025 takes this idea to the next level. It’s not just a projector—it’s also a music mood-setter, a dynamic light artist, and the perfect outdoor entertainment companion, aiming to create the ultimate "projector for tech enthusiasts."

The included Universal Lens Kit features sunset, moon phase, prism, and soft light effects, allowing users to enjoy sunsets and moonlit nights at home. This customizable ambient lighting feature, tailored to different moods and scenes, has resonated strongly with millennials, making the Play 6 stand out in a market flooded with similar home projectors.

This collaboration with M.LanPanda reflects XGIMI’s deep understanding of the projector market and its users. From the outset, the Play 6 series was designed with Gen Z’s emotional needs in mind. The co-branded gift set amplifies the product’s playfulness while offering personalized customization for different scenarios—every detail, from product selection to design, showcases thoughtful creativity.

The limited-edition gift set includes plush keychains, a portable canvas tote, fridge magnets, and other custom accessories, perfectly matching the product’s outdoor entertainment appeal. It also caters to Gen Z’s desire for personalization, letting users customize their own unique projector.

As a homegrown tech company based in Chengdu, this collaboration carries strong regional significance. XGIMI’s headquarters is in Chengdu’s High-Tech Zone, with its manufacturing base in Yibin’s Sanjiang New Area. Notably, it was the only company inspected by President Xi Jinping during his visit to Sichuan in June 2022. Chengdu, known globally as the "Panda Capital," is also a national hub for cultural innovation. M.LanPanda (Meng Lan), an adorable panda, has won hearts nationwide with its charming appearance and playful personality.

During the May holiday, XGIMI’s Chengdu stores—including IFS, Joy City, MixC, Raffles City, and JD Super Store—were decked out in M.LanPanda-themed decor. Crowds flocked to these locations to snap photos and share them on Xiaohongshu and Douyin, while also participating in giveaways for limited-edition co-branded merch, fully immersing in the joyful vibe brought by M.LanPanda.

Cultural Value: Eastern Aesthetics in a Global Industry

Under the success of its global strategy, XGIMI merges "panda culture" with Chinese innovation. The brand has expanded into Japan, Europe, Southeast Asia, and other key markets, with over 8,000 global retail points. Overseas revenue has grown rapidly—from $25 million in 2020 to $150 million in 2024, with a 43.66% annual growth rate. As XGIMI deepens its global presence, the co-branded merch will also debut overseas, marking another step in China’s innovative global outreach.

Driving Industry Fusion & Exploring New Business Models

XGIMI’s partnership with M.LanPanda isn’t just a first-of-its-kind fusion of tech and national treasure culture—it also leverages Chengdu’s identity and an "IP + product" model to showcase Eastern culture globally, sparking industry discussions on the humanistic value of tech products. This move could inspire more tech companies to explore traditional culture’s charm, driving innovation and cross-industry upgrades.
