On February 4, the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics left a deep impression on people. In this magnificent opening ceremony, the huge snowflake-shaped main torch platform and the unprecedented 8K ultra high definition ground display system attracted the attention of the world. These "black technologies" are from BOE.
According to BOE, both the hardware and software systems of the unprecedented snowflake torch platform were independently developed and designed by BOE.
The main torch platform of the opening ceremony has a diameter of 14.89 meters. It is composed of 96 small snowflakes and 6 olive branches in the form of LED double-sided screen ideas, using a double-sided hollow design, embedded with more than 550,000 LED lights, each light bead is independently controlled by a single channel of the driver chip.
Boe has developed a single-pixel controllable special-shaped display product with the narrowest luminous surface in the industry, which fully presents the sense of line and delicate screen display effect of snowflakes.
The moment the torch was lit, the huge screen of snow radiated from the center, shining in waves of cascading brilliance. BOE AIoT technology system and self-developed synchronous/asynchronous compatible messaging system are adopted here. Asynchronous centralized control can deliver large-scale video content quickly in a very short time. Synchronous centralized control ensures that 102 double-sided screens can realize millisecond response. In addition, the "main road + loop" backup high redundancy control system ensures the high reliability of the torch station broadcast control system.
At the same time, LoRa low-delay control system and synchronous playback time correction technology are adopted to further ensure the instruction delivery is foolproof and achieve perfect coordination of video images.
The floor of the opening ceremony is the largest 8K ultra high definition ground display system, covering 10,393 square meters. Boe adopts a number of 8K + resolution screen fusion technology, super-large optical correction algorithm can carry out a pixel-level optical correction for each display picture, can present 100000:1 ultra-high contrast, 3840Hz ultra-high refresh rate, and 29900x15096 ultra-high-resolution ultra HD gorgeous picture.
Equipped with BOE's independently developed super-large display module control and synchronization system, it can also capture the actors' moving track in real-time to achieve seamless interaction between the screen and the actors. At the same time, the ground display system can still achieve stable operation in the 5 months of high-intensity rehearsal and the extreme low-temperature rain and snow weather of minus 30 degrees Celsius in winter.
