Acer recently released a number of new products, including two 4K projectors, GM712 and GD711, both designed for gaming use. They use LED and halogen light sources, and both support up to 4K resolution. So what's the difference between Acer GM711 and Acer GM712?

1. Acer GM711 Gaming Projector

The first product, GD711, belongs to the Pradator predator series. It uses LED light source with a maximum brightness of 1450 ANSI and supports HDR10.

Acer GM711 has a 4K resolution in standard mode, but the resolution is reduced to 1080P in game mode. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate when connected to the host and a 240Hz refresh rate when connected to a PC.

It is worth noting that Acer GM711 is currently the only projector in the world that supports VRR variable refresh rate technology.

The Acer GD711 projector can project up to 100 inches of screen and has a built-in smart system. The product has two HDMI 2.0 ports, an audio output port and a USB-A type port. The service life of the light source is 20,000 to 30,000 hours.

Acer GM711 will be on sale in China in November, priced at 11,999 yuan; in addition, it will land in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in December.

2. Acer GM712Gaming Projector

The second projector, Acer GM712, uses a halogen bulb as the light source, with a brightness of 3600ANSI. This product is priced slightly lower at RMB 10,999, but the lifespan is reduced to 5,000 hours in the standard mode and 12,000 hours in the Eco mode.

The function of Acer GM712 is similar to that of GD711 projector, both support HDR10, variable refresh rate, 1080P 240Hz.

At present, some smart TVs are mainly used for "gaming", the display panel is 4K 120Hz, with HDMI 2.1 interface, and supports variable refresh rate.

3. What's the difference?

Acer’s two brand-new projectors are one of the few projector products on the market that support VRR variable refresh rates. This technology allows the product to get a smoother picture when connected to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S game consoles.

Predator GD711 is a smart 4K LED game projector, compatible with game consoles and PC game systems. The projector also has a built-in application store that allows users to access various streaming services, so you can now use the projector to play on a larger screen, or by streaming it to a wider audience.
