Its lightweight design adds to its appeal, allowing me to use it in various settings without feeling burdened. The aesthetic is modern, sleek, and unobtrusive, which fits well in any environment, from my home to outdoor settings for movie nights. Its small size does not compromise its functionality, with a straightforward interface that is user-friendly, even for those who are not particularly tech-savvy.

GooDee Mini Projector:

The GooDee Mini Projector boasts a compact and portable design that makes it an ideal choice for travel and outdoor use. Its lightweight construction is complemented by a sleek appearance, and the included carrying case adds convenience for on-the-go settings. The remote control is a thoughtful addition, enhancing ease of use and functionality. Overall, the build quality feels solid, making it a reliable companion for various viewing experiences.

Viewing Experience

AKASO Mini Projector:

The viewing experience with this projector varies significantly depending on the lighting conditions and the type of content being displayed. In darker rooms, the picture quality is good, but bright areas can wash out the image, especially with darker colors appearing almost black. Fine details, particularly in smaller text, can be difficult to read, which is a notable drawback for tasks like cookie decorating where precision is vital. Bigger text and lighter images project more clearly, making it suitable for certain activities but less so for detailed work or gaming.

GooDee Mini Projector:

The viewing experience with the GooDee Mini Projector is generally satisfactory, especially in darker environments. The image quality is commendable for the price point, delivering clear visuals with decent color accuracy. While it performs well for movies and casual viewing, some users noted that the brightness could be lacking in well-lit spaces. The onboard speaker is adequate for quiet settings, but for a more immersive experience, pairing it with a Bluetooth speaker or using headphones is recommended. The projector's ability to connect with various devices enhances its versatility, making it a good choice for movie nights or presentations.

KODAK Ultra Mini Projector:

The image quality is surprisingly good for such a small projector, providing a clear and crisp picture for drawing or casual viewing. While I found that it works best in dimly lit environments, it still delivered a decent projection even during the day. The focus can be tricky, as it tends to blur if not adjusted carefully, but when properly set, the visuals are satisfactory for my purposes. However, I did notice some issues with brightness and color saturation, particularly in larger projections, which makes it less ideal for dedicated movie-watching sessions. The battery life of about two hours is decent for short presentations or sketches, but any extended use would require a power source.

System Experience

AKASO Mini Projector:

Setting up the AKASO projector was a mixed experience. While the HDMI connection offered a reliable way to project content, I encountered several difficulties with wireless connectivity, particularly with my iPhone. The instructions were somewhat lacking, leading to frustration as I navigated through the setup process. However, once I figured out the HDMI connection, everything worked seamlessly. The inclusion of a remote control was a nice touch, although its responsiveness was hit or miss at times. Overall, the projector is easy enough to use once it’s set up, but the initial connection can be a challenge.

GooDee Mini Projector:

Setting up the GooDee Mini Projector is straightforward and user-friendly. The initial configuration is simple, allowing for quick connections to USB devices, HDMI cables, and streaming sticks like Roku or Firestick. However, some users have reported issues with the projector reading USB thumb drives, which can be frustrating. The projector's auto keystone feature works effectively, facilitating a hassle-free adjustment process, and I appreciated the included tripod which aids in achieving the desired angle. That said, the projector does not have built-in WiFi connectivity, limiting some streaming options without additional adapters.

KODAK Ultra Mini Projector:

Setting up the projector was a breeze; I was able to connect it to my iPhone and MacBook Pro with minimal effort using an HDMI to USB-C cable. However, I quickly learned that it does not come with essential accessories like the power cord or an HDMI adapter, which is somewhat disappointing considering the price point. I opted for a JBL Go 2 speaker to enhance the sound quality, as the built-in audio is rather weak. A sturdy overhead mount is necessary for optimal projection, and I found that a flexible arm stand worked well for my needs. Overall, though the setup is straightforward, the lack of included accessories is a notable drawback.

Conclusion

AKASO Mini Projector:

Pros:
• Compact and portable design.
• Good battery life and quick recharge.
• User-friendly interface and remote control.
• Wireless connectivity eliminates clutter.
• Works well for larger images and general viewing.

Cons:
• Difficulties with wireless setup and connectivity.
• Picture quality struggles with darker images.
• Remote control can be unresponsive and laggy.
• Image freezes occasionally, requiring a restart.
• Limited speaker volume, necessitating an external speaker for better sound.

Overall Impression:
After several months of use, I find the AKASO mini projector to be a useful tool for both leisure and practical applications like cookie decorating. While it has its flaws, particularly in connectivity and image quality under certain conditions, its portability and ease of use make it a valuable addition to my home electronics. It’s particularly ideal for those who need a projector for casual use rather than high-end cinematic experiences. Given its price and functionality, I believe it represents good value, especially for those who prioritize convenience and portability over top-tier picture quality.

GooDee Mini Projector:

Pros:
• Compact and portable design
• Easy setup and operation
• Good image quality in dark environments
• Versatile connectivity options (USB, HDMI, Bluetooth)
• Included remote control and tripod

Cons:
• Brightness may not suffice in well-lit areas
• Onboard speaker quality is average
• Potential issues with USB compatibility
• Limited wireless casting options for certain streaming services

Overall Impression:
Overall, the GooDee Mini Projector is a solid choice for those seeking a budget-friendly, portable projector for casual movie watching or presentations. While it has some limitations, such as brightness in lit conditions and occasional USB reading issues, it generally delivers a satisfactory viewing experience. For its price point, the projector offers good value, especially considering its portability and ease of use. If you're willing to invest in external audio solutions and have realistic expectations about performance, the GooDee Mini Projector can certainly enhance your entertainment setup while traveling or at home.

KODAK Ultra Mini Projector:

Pros:
• Extremely portable and lightweight design
• Easy to set up and connect to various devices
• Good image quality for drawing and casual viewing
• Sturdy construction and appealing aesthetic
• Adequate projection size for small spaces

Cons:
• Limited battery life; requires constant power for prolonged use
• Lacks essential accessories like the power cord and HDMI adapter
• Built-in sound is weak; external speaker recommended
• Focus can be difficult to maintain during use
• Not particularly bright for larger projections

Overall Impression:
The Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector is a solid option for those seeking a compact and portable projector, especially for artistic purposes like tracing or sketching. While it excels in portability and ease of use, several shortcomings, including the lack of essential accessories, weak sound quality, and subpar brightness for larger projections, may deter potential buyers. It serves its purpose well, but if you’re looking for a projector that can double as a dedicated entertainment device, you might want to explore other options. Despite its flaws, I find it to be a practical tool for my needs, particularly for art projects and casual presentations.

Got the AKASO Mini Projector for baking cookies and it does the job. But the sound for videos is kinda weak and it sometimes struggles to load. If you’re looking to watch movies without hooking up to a laptop or TV, I'd say go for a better version or a different brand altogether.

I'm totally loving my AKASO Mini Projector! It's super lightweight, so it stays put on my holder. I use it for my business almost every day—I can't imagine doing without it. The customer service is fantastic too! I'm really grateful for this awesome gadget!

I got the AKASO Mini Projector for cookie decorating, but it only works when I plug it directly into my iPhone. Kinda sucks because that makes it hard to decorate! Super disappointed.

KODAK Ultra Mini Projector is super tiny! The resolution isn't great and it’s not super bright, but I love it! I got a USB-C to HDMI cable for my phone and can watch movies anywhere. It's my new favorite gadget! I’d give it six stars if I could!
