The Apple TV operating system, tvOS 11.2, has been operational since 2015 during which output is the new Apple TV box 4 th generation. It is a rectified and improved version of IOS software, the iPhone operating system, which demonstrates good ergonomics facilitating voice and gesture interactions thanks to Siri.
Apple TV Box: Interface
On delivery, the Apple TV box contains the box and its Siri touch remote control, the USA lightning cable and the power cord. The configuration is assisted by an active cooling system although the box does not really need a fan unless it is in functional mode in an enclosed and closed space.
The different ports are installed on the back of the box: HDMI 2.0a output and Ethernet port. Only downside, the absence of the USB-C port. The applications are displayed on the interface in the form of mobile icons and can be deleted as on all touch screens.
Pleasant to handle and look at, you will be fascinated by the scrolling of these icons and wallpapers across the top. The price of the box is in our opinion quite accessible despite the cost to purchase the software and applications.

Apple TV Box: Reactivity
You must purchase a TV series or movie or iTunes Store if you want to stream it for download or streaming. Your videos can be viewed in the highest level on your television set. The setting of the station and the speed of your Internet connection then play on the responsiveness of the box.
It would be better for you to adapt the parameters of your box to those of your devices and in order to ensure faster downloads which will use your storage space to a minimum. To enjoy streaming without artifacts and in a more fluid way, Apple recommends a minimum speed of 25 Mbit / s. The fiber subscription can meet this need, especially if you share your Internet connection during the entire operation.
Apple TV Box: Kodi
The absence of the USB-C port has led to believe that from now on Apple TV will no longer have the Kodi multimedia gateway, because its installation requires a USB cable. There was however a solution which will influence the purchase price of the box, but which will make the system return. Above all, you would need a Mac running macOS High Sierra which identifies the (unique UIDD number) and which will allow you to install Kodi. In our opinion, the reliability of this process remains to be proven.

The major advantage of this Apple TV 4k box is undoubtedly the quality of the Ultra HD 4K images it provides. Moreover, Apple has not limited itself to simply bringing this support having a capacity to read full HD content, but it has invested in its distribution network to offer material.
In fact, the iTunes repertoire is made up of a growing batch of TV programs (series and films) in HDR and Dolby Vision. These rendered Ultra High Definition renderings highlight the details of dark areas and refine images that are too bright. With Apple TV, movies and series compete with those in Netflix production.
By the way, it should be noted that the price of 4K editions does not differ too much from that of Full HD publications. Some are accessible for free. You will also notice that the iTunes store only offers 4K streaming playback and does not allow downloads except for 1080p videos. Viewing 4K UHD requires a powerful Internet connection which can transmit at least 25 Mb / s.

Apple TV 4 th generation has multi-format video playback capacity: H.264 up to 2160p with a frame rate of 60 frames per second, HDR10 and H.264 which are reference profiles with format 160 kbit / s AAC-LC sound per channel (48 kHz), stereo audio in .mp4, .m4v and .mov format.
The standard video formats are also referenced in particular the MPEG-4 640 x 480 pixels formats up to 2.5 Mbit / s running at 30 frames per second. Not content with being a platform specifically focused on music, Apple TV is also a game console. The iTunes store offers a wide variety of applications, including several games originally designed for mobile phones. A number have been redesigned to adapt to large screens.
No slowdown was noted compared to titles often classified as heavier. The remote control is however not very ergonomic and does not have all the necessary buttons especially for the most complex games, but a gamepad via Bluetooth can be used for a better grip and to have more combinations.
Please note, the gamepad must be Apple certified to be functional. However, the system is not as refined compared to Nvidia. Apple reserves the right to sell its gaming services only in streaming while its competitor allows downloads through GeForce Now.
