eARC port why?

The Dangbei Mars Pro has an HDMI eARC but does not pass through anything above Dolby Digital. Why have the eARC port? Makes zero sense

Well when you have a projector with an eARC port that is connected to a soundbar, with Dolby Atmos tech ,you would think it could put out Dolby Atmos and it does not. Which means Dolby Digital is NOT well applied.
