Recently, according to the data of Omdia, a market research company, from January to March 2020, global TV shipments totaled 43.29 million, down 16.4% from the same period last year. In terms of display types, LCD TV shipments were 42.66 million, a year-on-year decrease of 16.6%, OLED TV shipments were 620000, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%. But in the global TV market, Korean TV manufacturers are the only winners.

During the outbreak, South Korean manufacturers regained the top spot in global sales. Their total market share in the first quarter rose to 38.8% from 31.6% in the same period last year. The total share of Chinese manufacturers rose slightly by 0.9 percentage points to 35.0%. The share of Japanese manufacturers fell 1.4 percentage points to 10.2%. Samsung's market share jumped from 18.8% to 24.1%, consolidating its position as the world's largest TV manufacturer. The market share of LG Electronics, the second largest company, also increased from 12.8% to 14.6%.
