What is LCD projection technology?

LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) projectors are divided into LCD panel projectors and LCD light valve projectors. Liquid crystal is between liquid and solid material, itself does not emit light, working properties are greatly affected by temperature, its working temperature is -55C~+77C. The projector uses the photoelectric effect of liquid crystal, that is, the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules changes under the action of electric field, affecting the transmittance or reflectance of its liquid crystal unit, thus affecting its optical properties, producing images with different gray levels and colors.

The imaging device is a liquid crystal plate, which is passive projection mode. Use external light source metal halogen lamp or UHP (cold light source). According to the number of LCD panels, LCD projector is divided into 3LCD and Single-chip LCD

3LCD

The three LCD projector principle is the optical system through the spectroscope to form RGB three beams of light, respectively through the RGB tri-color liquid crystal plate. After AD conversion, the signal source is modulated and added to the LCD panel. By controlling the opening and closing of the LCD unit, the on-off of the light path is controlled. The RGB light is finally aggregated in the prism and projected on the screen by the projection lens to form a color image. At present, the 3LCD projector is the main type of LCD projector.

Single-chip LCD

An LCD projector is small in size, light in weight, easy to operate and carry, and relatively low in price. But its light source has a short life, uneven color and low resolution. At present, there are few single-board projector models. From the image quality, the performance of the microcontroller is much less than the 3LCD machine.
