The current screen technology is changing with each passing day. OLED and QLED are gradually known to the public, but the current mainstream TVs globally are still dominated by LED. In just a few years, the price of LCD TVs can be said to have experienced a cliff-like drop. According to a report released by IHS in 2019, the average price of 55-inch LCD TV screen in September 19 fell to $102.

LCD TV screen price increasing? Signs showing in China

The real reason behind the continued decline of global LCD screen is the price war. A group of Chinese manufacturers represented by BOE, Huaxing Optoelectronics, Rainbow Optoelectronics, CLP Panda, etc. launched price wars around the world and made their products quickly occupy the market through price advantages. Now, with Samsung and LG successively announcing the abandonment of the LCD business, the global LCD production capacity will be mainly concentrated in the hands of Chinese manufacturers. What follows is a price increase.

According to reports, due to the current low prices, some TV screen manufacturers began to raise prices by 20% in July. In this context, some LCD screen manufacturers have raised their prices.

Shenzhou Yuntang Optoelectronics, Lijun Feiyang, and other three LCD screen manufacturers said that due to the skyrocketing prices of LCD TV screen and the tight supply and demand of materials, production costs have risen sharply. Since July, all products have been raised by more than 20% from the original price. Although BOE, Huaxing Optoelectronics and other TV screen giants have not yet spoken, the signal of LCD TV screen price increase is already quite obvious.

At present, LCD televisions are still the global mainstream. For consumers, large-screen LCD TVs will become history. The market has always relied on products to speak, and the price war is only temporary.
