According to BusinessKorea reports, as Toshiba and Sony are about to launch their first OLED TV products, South Korea’s LG Electronics will face challenges initiated by Japanese brands.

Recently, Toshiba of Japan released the product information of the Regza series of 48-inch OLED TVs on its official website. It is understood that Toshiba plans to release the 48X8400 model in the series on June 19, and the 48X9400 model in the fall. X8400 is an economical product, in contrast, X9400 is a high-end product with the highest specifications in terms of sound quality, picture quality and function. Toshiba plans to expand its market share through the popular medium-sized TV products in the Japanese market.

Sony will also launch the Sony Bravia A9S series of 48-inch OLED TVs on July 25. At present, Sony has received a reservation order for the product. Sony emphasized that the Bravia A9S series has an engine that converts various contents such as terrestrial broadcasting and Internet video into high-definition content; at the same time, the product's noise reduction technology can improve image quality. In addition, users can enjoy fast-changing pictures, such as sports events, without visual afterimages.

However, in the OLED TV market, LG Electronics' layout should not be underestimated. Earlier this year, LG Electronics launched the world's first 48-inch OLED TV. At CES 2020, the Korean manufacturer also showed many new OLED TVs.

Since May, LG Electronics has successfully led Sony and Toshiba and dominated the global TV market, while the company’s high-end TV market in the UK has grown.

Industry observers predict that LG Electronics’ OLED TVs will begin selling in Japan around June 19, when Toshiba will release new products and Sony will also launch new products. The three major manufacturers will first compete in the Japanese market.

According to data from market research company Omdia, shipments of OLED TV panels are expected to increase by 30% year-on-year to 4.5 million units in 2020. It can be said that OLED TVs are continually moving towards the center of the market, at which time the world will surely usher in more intense fighting.
