LGU AR glasses coming soon but only for its 5G users

LG Uplus (South Korean telecom operator) will release its AR (augmented reality) glasses U+ Real Glass on August 21. The glasses are limited to its 5G users and currently only support the Samsung Note20 series. The ex-factory price of U+ Real Glass is 699,000 won.

According to LG Uplus, if you sign a monthly plan of 105,000 won or more, you can buy it at half the price. They plan to expand the service to LG Electronics’ LG Velvet and V50 series. LG Velvet was released in the first half of this year and the V50 series was released in the second half of last year.

LG U+, a subsidiary of LG, has cooperated with China’s Nreal to launch AR glasses of only 88 grams. Pre-orders are currently open in South Korea. Europe, the United States and Japan are expected to launch between the end of this year and the beginning of next year. The official announcement will be on Aug 21 Friday. Officially announced, the current pair of AR glasses will be sold in a bundle with Samsung Note 20 or LG's Velvet. The additional purchase price of 5G is 295 US dollars. If you simply buy glasses, it is 590 US dollars, which is not a very affordable price.

LG AR glasses will be able to connect with the mobile phone via USB, and then project the mobile phone screen in front of your eyes. It can provide up to 100 inches of vision. The manufacturer promises that it will support Chrome, Facebook, Instagram and other essential apps, and the phone will change into a remote control.
