Microsoft Cancels Xbox Game Pass Game Preview Mechanism

The news is that the first-person shooter "Atomic Heart" will be available on Xbox Game Pass in February this year.

Atomic Heart is an action role-playing game developed by Mundfish and to be published by Focus Entertainment and 4Divinity.

Microsoft Xbox Game Pass has established a clear distribution model over the past few years, typically releasing new games every few weeks. However, Microsoft has significantly changed this model in 2023, resulting in many Xbox Game Pass subscribers being confused.

Microsoft is not teasing new Xbox Game Pass games this January, opting instead to launch the games directly on the service. In the meantime, subscribers will receive push notifications about new Xbox Game Pass games that haven't actually been added yet.

Microsoft then published a short blog post highlighting the new Xbox Game Pass games that were added this week, but it still didn't focus on what's coming in the second half of January 2023.

Not only do Xbox Game Pass subscribers have no idea what they can expect from the service in the second half of January 2023, but they also have no idea what's in store for the next month. Typically, previous release date announcements will alert Xbox Game Pass subscribers to the various games they can expect from the service. As of now, Atomic Hearts is the only game confirmed for a February 2023 release.
