More than 100 companies support HDR 10+ for now

Three years after its launch, the image processing technology HDR 10+, led by samsung electronics, has nearly 100 members and is still growing. With the participation of global companies, the expansion of the HDR 10+ ecosystem is also accelerating. According to a report by industry media on July 14, 97 companies have joined the HDR 10+ camp so far.

More than 100 companies support HDR 10+ for now

HDR 10+ is an image processing technique that optimizes the brightness of each scene in a digital image to create a realistic image. Currently, the HDR 10+ accredited companies include TV manufacturers such as samsung electronics, panasonic and TCL, semiconductor companies such as qualcomm and broadcom, content companies such as warner bros and 20th century fox, and media services companies such as amazon and rakuten.

Analysis shows that the technical power of HDR 10+ is increasing because there are many leading companies in every field. In particular, it is a certification program led by samsung electronics, the world's largest TV maker, that has had a big impact on the industry. More than half of the world's top 10 TV manufacturers are participating in the HDR 10+ certification program, according to market research firm IHS Markit.

It is worth mentioning that in the current video image field, in addition to the HDR 10+ dominated by samsung, there are "Dolby Vision" created by Dolby, "HLG" jointly developed by BBC and NHK, and "Advanced HDR" developed by philips and Technicolor, etc. But with the exception of HDR10+, other standards usually pay royalties.
