Disney confirmed on Monday that its live-action version film Mulan has been approved for release in Chinese theaters soon, and China will become the most important region where the film will be shown in theaters. The official release date of this film in China has not yet been determined.

Due to COVID-19, the film Mulan has been postponed four times. Disney announced last week that this remake of the classic animation from 1998 will be released in most major regions through its streaming service Disney+, starting on September 4, and will be priced at $29.99. The company also said that it will release the film in areas where movie theaters are open, but it is currently not available on Disney+.

So far, Mulan has been confirmed to be released on September 4 in several other Asian markets, including Singapore and Malaysia. If it is released in China at the same time, it will compete directly with Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated sci-fi epic film Tenet which will premiere in mainland China on the same day.
