Many people stayed indoors watching videos or gaming. The Netflix tv series Sex Education gained high viewing share. I have been wondering what makes the show popular. Here is my thought. Taboo dissipates in the fairy tale, love and dignity are behind sex.
The Sex Education presents the life of a high school student in a British school in a comic and playful manner. Its main character has no fixed boundaries, but chooses to present the audience with a large, expandable and easily changeable group image, in which the gender composition of the characters is basically balanced. The series showcases the friendships and relationships between men and women as equals and with mutual respect, and focuses on women's empathy and understanding with other marginalized groups, such as sexual minorities, without ignoring the power relationships between different gender roles.
Value diversity is not concessions to traditional, but respect other people have the right to have opinions different from our own. The Sex Education seems very avant-garde but doesn't intend to blame for the conservatives, but on the basis of respect for the dignity, to make conservative view more close to the modern time.
Netflix Sex Education is not to force all open attitude to sex or encourage teenagers to have sex, but sex as a choice back to the individual itself. Whether or not to choose, choose what kind of object or sexual fantasies, individual dignity will not hurt a bit because of sex.
Sex Education is a good dream, youth campus love which doesn't shy away from those common in adolescents of sharp social problems. Although the show still takes a tolerant attitude to strong conservative and radical sexual revolution , it does not mean that it does not have its own position and demands.
The Sex Education is the debut of many of the stars, but their performances are so natural.
