1. Appearance

Samsung AU7192 is characterized by quite a popular design. As in the case of models from LG, its main features are a narrow frame surrounding the screen and feet located at the ends of the matrix. These additionally (besides stability) offer something else. Thanks to the legs, we managed to use a cable masking system, because the cables can be hidden in the TV stand (legs).

The good news for those who want to hang their TV on the wall is the VESA 200 x 200 mm standard. This means that many cheap mounts will fit your TV.

2. Image

Well, it turns out that the model from the basic series can delight ... However, it is not about natural and vivid colors like on OLED TV, because it is not that price range. It is more about a large number of content enhancers displayed on the screen. Whether you're watching YouTube videos or maybe a TV show from terrestrial TV, the picture quality will be satisfactory.

The Samsung AU55UE7192 is simply a cheap TV in the entry-level series (there is an even lower series, the Samsung AU7102). This is primarily a TV for people who want to spend as little money as possible on a new device. Here, in addition to the 4K picture, you gain a matrix running at 50 Hz - it could not be otherwise.

The better (100 Hz) matrices are reserved for the slightly more expensive and best TVs. If you use your TV on a daily basis, and you previously had a TV running on a 50 Hz matrix, you won't notice any difference in the smoothness of movement on the screen. It would be worse if you were "switching" from a 100 Hz TV to a Samsung model.

A good picture for a budget TV comes from the most important technologies that the entire Samsung AU7192 series offers. It is primarily about HDR10+ or HLG support so that you get an even better contrast than in traditional TVs. In fact, for dark and bright scenes it is worth having a TV at least with HDR10+ and HLG, because the difference is visible.

It's just a shame that Samsung 2021 TVs don't support Dolby Vision. This is one of the most interesting technologies that make the quality of the displayed image even better. Unfortunately, for now, there is no indication that the best 2022 TVs from Samsung will support the Dolby Vision format.

3. Edge LED backlight, viewing angles

The Samsung TV works on a VA matrix. However, even in this case, the viewing angles have not been improved. If here an IPS matrix was used, we would gain better viewing angles. However, Samsung relies more (in the case of this series) on VA matrices. Probably the company assumes that deeper blacks (VA matrix) is better than viewing angles (IPS). The user usually sits in front of the TV (so other viewing angles are out of the question, so the VA matrix wins).

Samsung UE55AU7192 is a model offering an Edge LED backlight (there is also a Direct LED). What does it mean?

The LEDs are placed on the edges of the panel and a network of special optical fibers with reflective planes are used to reflect the light coming from the LEDs. The light is dispersed evenly behind the LCD panel. Thanks to the Edge LED technology, the panel construction is very thin and thus the overall depth of the TV is small.
This allows the construction of flat-screen TVs that consume little electricity and are cheap to both purchase and operate. The disadvantage of this type of panel is uneven backlighting (brighter picture at the edges than in the middle of the screen).

4. Image enhancement options: which are the most important?

DVB-T2, DVB-S2, DVB-C, analog tuner
This is the list of picture enhancement options that the Samsung 55-inch TV uses. Many of them affect how the final colors look on the screen PurColor (Precise and vivid colors), Contrast Enhancer (Contrast Amplifier), Crystal Processor 4K (Crystal 4K processor), Crystal Display (Crystal Display).

This year, there's no shortage of FILMMAKER MODE (Filmmaker Mode), although it's rather hard to see a big difference in the screen on a budget model. Filmmaker mode actually improves the movie you are watching, but if you are watching it on a Mini LED or OLED screen. It makes us wonder if there is any point in "stuffing" such technology into budget TVs then.

5. Sound

Sound in LED TVs is an interesting issue. Adequate speakers should "take up" some space so that in fact you would not need to buy a speaker strip. However, with LED TVs being so thin, it is impossible to "fit" speakers with more than 20 watts in a budget TV.

That's why most good and cheap 4K TVs offer only 20 watts in terms of total power. This is definitely not a drawback. On the other hand, when it comes to the audio experience, it's worth paying attention to what features make the sound surround, dialogue clearer, and bass even better.

Unfortunately, you won't find Dolby Atmos on Samsung's budget TVs, but the AU7192 series will still surprise you with something else. It is about Q-Symphony technology, which was previously the domain of Samsung QLED TVs. Now it can be activated not only in budget models but also in the 2020 series. What it's about?

Simply update the software on your TV and soundbar, and in the next step, sync your Q-series soundbar with a compatible 2020 Samsung TV via HDMI. The technology amplifies the sound from all the speakers of the TV and soundbar, which will work together. With this solution, viewers can expect a whole new level of audiovisual experience.

6. System

Smart TVs have a lot of benefits besides web browsing and access to top websites from the remote. All in all, the networking and multimedia options usually make it worth opting for a budget model from the 2021 catalog. Provided that we will use the Internet on the big screen.

These days, smart TV operating systems are very clear and intuitive. This year, Samsung has equipped its Smart TVs with the Tizen 6.0 platform, which is even more convenient to use than previous versions. Plus, with this series, you gain a standard remote (rather than a Smart remote without a numeric keypad).
