Samsung Electronics today disclosed that it will close its last computer factory in China-Samsung Electronics Suzhou Computer Factory. The South Korean giant is getting further and further away from China. Samsung said in a notice to employees that the factory has approximately 1,700 contract employees, half of which will lose their jobs due to the closure of the factory, excluding R&D personnel.

Samsung's Suzhou computer factory once had its own brilliance. In 2012, the output value was as high as 4.3 billion US dollars, but only 1 billion US dollars were left in 2018. As for follow-up factory revenue, shipments, and how to arrange the affected employees, Samsung declined to disclose.

However, Samsung emphasized that China is still an important market for Samsung and will continue to provide high-quality products and services to Chinese consumers.

Just last October, Samsung closed its last mobile phone factory in China, completely withdrew from China's mobile phone manufacturing industry, and turned to Vietnam and India.

Currently, Samsung Electronics has two semiconductor manufacturing plants in Suzhou and Xi'an in China.
