I really like storylines like this. A female character is courted by a prominent man (usually super rich and busy) and she is moved into his mansion/ home and waits alone while he ignores her and enjoys all the luxuries that her new life with him offers, like a fancy home, expensive clothing, fancy food 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 etc.- this happens in The Crown with Princess Diana, Queen Charlotte: a Bridgerton Story and Priscilla (2023). I was wondering if there is anything else with this plot trope

The plot trope you describe, where a female character waits alone for her rich suitor in a lavish setting, is often found in period dramas and romantic narratives. While not identical, some stories share similar elements or themes. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Pride and Prejudice (2005):
    • While not an exact match, this adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel features a wealthy and proud Mr. Darcy and the strong-willed Elizabeth Bennet. The story explores themes of class, love, and societal expectations.
  2. Rebecca (2020):
    • This Netflix adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's novel revolves around a young woman who marries a wealthy widower and moves to his grand estate, Manderley. The shadow of his deceased first wife, Rebecca, haunts their relationship.
  3. Jane Eyre (2011):
    • Another classic adaptation, this film tells the story of Jane Eyre, a governess who falls in love with her employer, Mr. Rochester. The film explores themes of love, social class, and secrets.
  4. Great Expectations (2012):
    • Based on Charles Dickens' novel, this film depicts the relationship between Pip, a poor orphan, and Estella, a wealthy and distant young woman. The story explores themes of social class and unrequited love.
  5. Anna Karenina (2012):
    • Set in 19th-century Russia, this film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's novel follows Anna Karenina, who becomes involved in a passionate affair with Count Vronsky. The story explores the consequences of societal expectations and forbidden love.
  6. Downton Abbey (TV Series):
    • While not a direct match, the series explores the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in early 20th-century England. It delves into themes of love, social class, and the changing times.
Please note that while these suggestions may share some thematic elements, each story has its own unique plot and character dynamics. Additionally, the portrayal of relationships in these narratives can vary widely, so the level of waiting and solitude may differ from what you described.
