Sony A8H appearance design

The front of Sony A8H is a four-sided ultra-narrow border design, the screen ratio is very high, the breathing light is still in the middle, and there is a hardware button at the bottom. The SONY logo has moved to the left. The matte design does not prevent the reflection from being too bright to attract attention. The back is still a typical convex design, but it also reflects the ultra-thin characteristics of the OLED screen.

The back panel of the screen is made of metal and is designed in one piece. The frame surrounds the entire screen, so no gaps can be seen, and the process is also very good. The thinnest part of the screen is 5.3 mm, plus the motherboard area, excluding the thickest part of the base is about 51 mm. There are four HDMI2.0 ports and three USB ports (including one USB3.0).

Integrated base, all metal, heavy, I like the design, just insert it directly into the jack at the bottom of the TV, there is no need to screw any screws at all, which saves a lot of trouble.

Sony A8H picture quality
OLED screens have inherently pure colors and a wide color gamut, and basically cover the P3 color gamut. The 120HZ screen refresh rate, plus the 120HZ MEMC algorithm, can compensate for low frame rate video interpolation to 120FPS, to obtain a smooth picture effect. Thanks to the characteristics of the OLED screen, the screen response time is as low as 1 millisecond, and it is almost useless to produce smear in the picture. A8H uses the Octavia dynamic function that was used on high-end LCD TVs for the first time on OLED TVs. This function can ensure the smoothness of the picture without reducing the brightness of the picture.

Sony A8H also has pixel-level contrast enhancement function, which can further enhance the HDR effect of the picture. At the same time, the flagship X1 image quality processing chip also brings precision visualization to the A8H, which optimizes the low-definition picture and improves the clarity to a certain extent.

Sony A8H experience
Sony A8H uses the Android 9.0 system with a full-screen home screen. From the Google Play store you have access major apps. Though user storage capacity is only 8GB, it is enough. However for gamers, Sony A8H lacks HDMI 2.1 port which means that the next gen game console (PS5, Xbox Series X) could not fully show the excellent performance on this TV model.

Sony A8H works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Appple AirPlay and Apple HomeKit. As for the sound, this TV is specially equipped with Acoustic Surface Audio which makes the TV screen a speaker itself and allow you more immersive audiovisual experience at home plus the Dolby Atmos.
