Despite being on the market for seven years, the Nintendo Switch continues to exhibit robust sales momentum. According to the latest hardware sales report from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the combined sales of all three Switch versions (Standard, Switch Lite, and OLED) in Japan have reached 32,027,938 units. This figure places the Switch tantalizingly close to becoming Japan's best-selling console of all time, with just a mere 1 million units standing between it and the top spot.

Currently, the two highest-selling consoles in Japan both hail from Nintendo: the handheld platform NDS (32,990,000 units) and the classic Game Boy (32,470,000 units). The Switch continues to maintain weekly sales figures ranging between 50,000 to 100,000 units in Japan. Considering the potential for discounts or bundled sales promotions before the launch of the next-generation console, surpassing these predecessors appears to be an inevitable outcome.
