LCD TV, the Liquid-crystal-display television, use liquid-crystal display to produce images. LCD TVs are the most widely produced and sold television display type which went popular in the early years of the 21st century.

What are the differences between LCD and LED screens or TVs?

1. Different display technologies

LCD: A display screen composed of liquid crystals.
LED: display screen composed of light-emitting diodes.

2. Different display effects
LCD: Due to the backlight layer, it emits light by refracting light, the color saturation is not so high, the display effect is more natural, and it is not easy to fatigue after long-term viewing.
LED: It can self-illuminate, and each pixel can project light of three primary colors of red, green and blue, so the display effect is better than LCD screen.

3. Different thickness

LCD: thicker, because of the presence of the backlight layer and the liquid crystal layer, the thickness will be thicker than the LED.
LED: Light and thin, LED is very easy to make mobile phones thin, and it also provides the possibility of the appearance of flexible screens and folding screens in the future.

4. Different power consumption
LCD: Turning on means that the entire backlight layer is turned on and can only be turned on or turned off, and the power consumption is high.
LED: Each pixel works independently, and some pixels can be lit individually, so the power consumption of LED will be lower.

5. Different screen life
LCD: Inorganic material is used, which has a slow aging speed and long life.
LED: Using organic materials, the life of LED screen is not as good as that of LCD screen.

In a nutshell, LCD is cheaper and life-longer than LED displayer. LED displayer is thinner, more energy-saving and better than LCD in color and picture displaying.
