Naked Eye 3D LED displays are 3D displays that allow 3D graphics to be viewed without any glasses or additional devices. The viewer can see the 3D picture with the naked eye without the need for glasses.

The Naked-Eye 3D LED display is designed with multi-view technology. It means that a person can view a 3D image no matter where he or she is sitting. As of today, the types of 3D LED displays are lenticular, holographic projection, columnar lens, time-sharing multiplexer, and volumetric.

The naked-eye 3D image display adopts the "Integral Imaging method" in which a lenticular lens is arranged in front of the liquid crystal panel.

One pixel of the liquid crystal panel corresponds to nine pixels of a normal two-dimensional (2D) image. It adopts a special pixel arrangement in which the RGB three-color sub-pixels are arranged vertically, and then they are arranged horizontally with 9 parallaxes. Through these measures, within the viewing angle range of 15 degrees left and right, 3D images with sharpness and few interference fringes can be viewed.

When displaying 3D images, the number of pixels of the 20-inch product is 1280 × 720 (total pixels are 8,294,400), and the number of pixels of the 12-inch product is 466 × 350 (total pixels of 1.47 million). When displaying 2D images, all 9 parallaxes of one pixel are assigned to the same image, so the image resolution is extremely high.

The content of the displayed image can be converted into 9-parallax images by converting existing 2D images and 3D images (two parallax for left eye and right eye). The 20-inch product is equipped with a microprocessor "Cell Broadband Engine" and an image processing circuit based on LSI for multi-parallax conversion. Depth of field information is estimated from the input video, and 9-parallax video is generated.
