Why is there a flare on the side projection? Can it be eliminated?

Many smart projectors now support keystone correction, so side projection is not a problem. However, when some friends use the side projection, they will find a faint "flare" outside the screen, which affects the viewing effect. So what is this all about?

Why is there a flare on the side projection? Can it be eliminated?

In fact, this is caused by the basic principle of the projector: optical zoom makes the bright surface projected by the optical machine will not change with the change of the trapezoidal correction. The trapezoidal correction only corrects the projected picture, while the optical machine projects the whole The bright side of it still appears around the screen in conversation, especially the higher the brightness, the more obvious it is.
It can be seen that this situation occurs in the following multiple projectors during side projection.

It can be seen that these projectors have different degrees of external light spots when they are projected sideways. The picture shows the screen in highlight mode. If you adjust to the standard mode or the economic mode, it is difficult to see these spots.

So is there any way to eliminate these spots? In terms of mechanism, the appearance of light spots on the side projection cannot be eliminated. Only the front projection can make the "non-appearance" of the light spot. Therefore, if conditions permit, it is recommended to use the front projection. Or in the living room with part of the light, the light spot will not be obvious because of the low brightness.

In summary, the side projection can indeed be watched through trapezoidal correction, but after all, some picture loss will occur, and the picture effect will not be optimal. The front projection or side installation on the wall can avoid the appearance of light spots, so that the projection effect is better.
