If you can hear others in a group chat, but others can't hear you, try the following solution.
Solution 1: make sure your headphones are not mute
Check that the orange LED light next to the mute button is not on.
Solution 2: test your Xbox One chat headphones
To test your headphones, download Skype to your Windows device:
Turn on your Xbox One controller and make sure the "Xbox" button lights up to indicate it's on.
Connect the headset to your controller.
If you haven't already, download Skype.
Select Tools and then Options. After that, select audio settings from the general menu to test your microphone and speakers. Make sure you select your Xbox One chat headset from the drop-down list of devices during the test.
Note: when you first set up Skype, you will be prompted to check the sound and video quality.
