Will smart TVs have to be replaced for several years like mobile phones?

Traditional TVs can generally be used for seven or eight years. Will smart TVs be used for two or three years like mobile phones are getting slower and the experience is getting worse need to be replaced? For most users who only want to meet their basic needs, it can take five years to choose a high-quality smart TV, and it can be used for seven years with good maintenance. For ambitious enthusiasts who like to try new technologies, it is normal to change every two or three years.

At present, most of the screens of smart TVs are LCD screens, and its service life is about 60,000 hours. Assuming that we watch more than 10 hours of TV every day, theoretically it can last for 15 years. However, because the screen has not been used as the only criterion for measuring the service life of smart TVs, the "hardware life" of its calculation part should also be used as the main reference. In addition, we have to look at "software life".

With the development of technology, new functions of smart TVs come online, such as the Internet of Everything, somatosensory new technologies, VR, multi-screen technology, and the iteration of AI systems, and the requirements for smart TVs will become higher and higher. But overall I still think that smart TVs will not be as diligent as mobile phones. The reasons are as follows:

1. First of all, the main reason for changing the mobile phone is not because the system is getting slower and the experience is getting worse. It is because the merchants are updating too quickly, and the packaging and marketing capabilities are too convincing (otherwise, how can merchants make money).

2. In fact, the technological innovation in the smart TV field has not been so rapid, and it may still be an update in the small area within two to three years. Like the hot OLED smart TV in recent years, it is also an update of the display screen.

3. The usage rate of smart TVs is far inferior to that of mobile phones. Even if the upgrading is accelerated, our demand for smart TVs temporarily stays on the basic functions, the film sources are sufficient, and the picture quality and sound quality are satisfactory. We said that in the future, to develop a complete intelligent control ecosystem and realize human-computer interaction, the Internet of Everything is the development direction of the TV industry, but it will take a long time to truly achieve the popularization of these new technologies. However, external factors such as power supply, peripheral circuits, application environment, etc. also have a great influence on the life of the smart TV. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to daily maintenance.

1. Be careful not to switch on and off frequently.

2. Wiping with clean water may cause permanent damage to the TV.
Wiping the flat TV with clean water is an unwise cleaning method. The first is that the cleaning effect is average and it is easy to leave water marks. More importantly, the liquid crystal is very easy to cause permanent damage due to moisture.

3. When the TV is not used for a long time, it is best to turn off the TV or reduce its display brightness, otherwise it will easily cause internal burnout or aging.

4. Avoid leaving scratches on the TV screen and avoid violent impact on the display screen.
The liquid crystal display is very fragile, and direct contact or direct impact can easily cause damage to the small lines and devices on the liquid crystal screen.

If the smart TV is too stuck but temporarily unwilling to change, there is also a way to connect an external TV box or TV stick. Regarding the smart TV as a display screen to continue life, the effect is the same.

Although the life span of a smart TV can reach ten years, it is not recommended to use it for too long. For safety reasons, it can be changed every seven years at least.
