Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, many streaming applications have to reduce video clarity to save bandwidth for more important content. After Netflix, YouTube also lowered the default video resolution to standard definition. At present, India can only play videos with a maximum resolution of 480p. The state has lasted for three months, and there is no sign that Google will relax restrictions in the short term.

Youtube 480p 3 months in India: When will YouTube lift the restriction?

In late March, India ordered the blockade of the whole country, making learning, office and family gatherings all changed to online mode. To alleviate network congestion, some local players have adjusted bandwidth requirements along with international players such as YouTube (such as Netflix, Prime Video, etc.), reducing the default resolution of the video. Although the clarity can be improved manually on the web, the upper limit on mobile phones has always been fixed at 480p.

For three months, Indians have been unable to watch YouTube high-definition videos on their mobile phones, which is very unfriendly to users who like to watch YouTube. Although the default resolution of the United States, Europe and other regions is also 480p, users can increase the resolution according to their needs. When will YouTube lift the restriction?
