B&O has slotted a new soundbar in between Beosound Stage and Theatre, called Premiere, and the review that went up is worth reading for the details rather than the verdict. It is a 4.1.2 configuration built from 10 drivers: a centre tweeter, one upward-firing driver under the perforated grille, two front-firing full-range, two side-firing full-range in that prominent centre section, and four angled woofers. Each driver has its own amp rated somewhere between 50 and 70 watts. Bass rolls off at 34Hz, where Theatre goes lower and can also deliver 8dB more bass SPL, so the hierarchy is honest at least.
Two things stand out as actual buying decisions rather than taste. First, unlike Theatre there is no built-in HDMI hub on this one. Connections sit behind a removable cover with an ethernet run for an optional LG TV link, and an analog line input via USB-C. If your plan was to consolidate sources into the bar, that plan is dead. Second, you cannot mount the TV directly onto Premiere the way you can with Theatre, so measure your clearance under the panel before ordering.
The LG TV integration is the interesting bit long term, letting you drive it from B&O's own BeoRemote One. Nice if you are already in that world, irrelevant otherwise. It is 93.2cm wide and 8.4kg, three colour options, with the front covers sold separately in two wood finishes or grey fabric, so budget accordingly.
The detail that would bother me most is the reviewer noting the chassis creaks as the unit warms up. On a thousand-euro soundbar you shrug. On a B&O, where the entire pitch is aluminium craftsmanship and objects that feel permanent, a creak is a category error. Anyone here heard it in a showroom, or is this a one-off review sample thing?
